New Chums Beach

I had heard a lot about New Chums Beach from locals who know it and visitors who, having been there, raved about the sheer stunning beauty of this place. So finally I got to go and see it for myself. I made my way over the hill from Kuaotunu on a 30 minute, easy walking track lined with Nikau Palms and native ferns, the only way to reach New Chums Beach. As I came over the hill and out of the bush there it was right before my eyes, spectacular and stunning. About two kilometres of lovely golden sand, a completely unspoiled beach. No roads, no buildings, nothing at all except rich green foliage, golden sandy beach and stunning blue water all there just as Captain Cook would have seen it from HMS Endeavour in 1769.
